In the solo evening “Soul Threads”, Friedemann Vogel, one of the most celebrated ballet stars on the international stage, takes the audience on an intimate journey through the artistic world of dance. With utmost sensitivity and precision, this performance becomes a profound reflection on the fragility and strength of the human soul.
Rooted in the idea that the dancer is connected by invisible threads to his emotions, memories, and inner struggles, Vogel presents a finely nuanced vocabulary of movement. Every step, every gesture appears to be in constant dialogue between body and soul.
“Soul Threads” is a deeply personal project for Friedemann Vogel, developed in collaboration with visual artist and choreographer Thomas Lempertz. Inspired by Heinrich von Kleist’s essay “On the Marionette Theatre”, the performance explores how the natural can emerge from the artificial, the moving from the mechanical, and grace from what is trained.
The work captivates with its clear, minimalist aesthetic. Enhanced by atmospheric lighting and a specially composed soundscape, “Soul Threads” creates an environment that draws focus to the essence: the dancer, his vulnerability, and his passion.
