Postponement of "Sleeping Beauty" Performances Due to Omicron Infections in the Ensemble

The Hamburg Ballet must postpone the next four performances of the premiere series of John Neumeier's ballet "The Sleeping Beauty" on January 6, 7, 9 and 10. Several dancers in the ensemble had contracted the Omicron variant of the Corona virus.

"The new version of Sleeping Beauty is a demonstration of the capabilities of the Hamburg Ballet ensemble and our ballet school. For me, but also for our audience, it would be an imposition to show this opulent production in an improvised form," says ballet director John Neumeier.

With great determination, John Neumeier is committed to making up for the cancelled performances. Together with his colleagues at the Hamburg State Opera, he is working to offer replacement dates. Regardless of this, ticket holders have the option of having the ticket value refunded.
