Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga

Die arabische Prinzessin (The Arab Princess)

Family introduction at 4.45 pm

Konzeption und musikalische Einrichtung Anna-Sophie Brüning, Text von Paula Fünfeck nach einem arabischen Märchen

Once upon a time, there was a young fisherman with a beautiful voice. Every day he sold his catch, and his voice rang out, clear as a bell, over the market: “Fish! Fresh fish! Buy your fresh fish here!” One morning, Princess Amirah heard the wonderful sound and decided to make him her prince. However, not every fish is easy to bait, and before the two knew it, they were in the midst of the greatest adventure of their life. – Young Alisa, called by her nickname Ali, can never get enough of this incredible story of the fisherman and the princess, which her aunt reads to her. She sees the images in front of her inner eye ever more clearly, the Oriental perfumes tickle her nose, and gradually the dancing melodies of the “Spanish Mozart,” as Arriaga is occasionally known, entice her into a different world…
